For Precious Okoyomon’s installation at the 59th Venice Biennale, we collaborated with them on the circulation and garden layout to help translate their vision into a buildable plan. The project centered around a dense, living field of kudzu and sugarcane, with a stream running through the site. Our focus was on shaping a circulation strategy that allowed visitors to meander, get lost, and engage directly with the landscape. Subtle topographic changes were key to the experience—creating moments of enclosure, shifting sightlines, and a sense of immersion as the terrain gently guided movement. The path was designed to feel instinctive but obscured, allowing the vegetation to dominate vertically while maintaining a legible, physical flow through the space. We also contributed to the layout logistics and installation techniques, supporting the realization of a complex, ephemeral environment rooted in ritual, decay, and transformation.
